We are sorry to advise the death on 4 December of longstanding member Gordon Jaynes at the age of 93. He is survived by his wife Lyle. Gordon was born in Washington state and took law degrees at Washington University and (postgraduate) at University College, London. After a stint in the US Army, he became in-house counsel for Kaiser Engineers and Constructors and travelled widely. He fell in love with England, and settled in Virginia Water, Surrey, opening an office in London. As we all know, while living in Surrey, he conducted numerous arbitrations and dispute boards, whilst indulging in his passions of F1, reading, and wine. His death, however, followed a return to the US in October this year, where he was settling in Kentucky, close to Lyle’s family.
