Chris Miers

We are saddened to announce the death of our friend and colleague Christopher Miers. Following a short illness, Chris passed away on 7th February 2023. Chris was a renowned construction dispute expert, talented Chartered Architect, and trusted Chartered Arbitrator. He was a former Honorary Secretary of the SCA and a valued member of the Society for many years. 

In 1998 Chris founded Probyn Miers, a firm specialising in engineering and architectural expertise which, through the hard work and expertise of Chris and his wife Teresa, ranked among the world’s leading firms for forensic analysis, dispute avoidance, and dispute resolution. Chris’s reputation in dispute resolution was strong and well-deserved and his contribution was immense. Chris was a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and was on FIDIC’s President’s List Adjudicator for dispute boards. He was a past international president of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation and a past chairman of the Society of Construction Law. He was also a freeman and liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators.
